'Very Short Films' On this page you can see examples of films made by small groups of Year 8 and Year 9 students in Media Studies lessons. In Year 9, as part of a Media & Drama course on film acting, students use 'single-camera' techniques to film a short piece of drama repeatedly, from different angles. They then use Adobe Premiere editing software to edit the shots together, to create the illusion of continuous action. You can download full teachers' notes on this activity here: This represents a progression from work i n Year 8, when students learn to edit 'in-camera'. As part of a course on hospital dramas, they storyboard scenes and film them in a series of consecutive single takes. You can download full teachers' notes on this activity here: You can also see a Teachers' TV programme about this project here. You can download complete schemes of work fro these two activities on the 'Downloads' page. See also: Creative & Media Diploma videos
