'Very Short Films'

On this page you can see examples of films made by small groups of Year 8 and Year 9 students in Media Studies lessons.

In Year 9, as part of a Media & Drama course on film acting, students use 'single-camera' techniques to film a short piece of drama repeatedly, from different angles. They then use Adobe Premiere editing software to edit the shots together, to create the illusion of continuous action.

This represents a progression from work i n Year 8, when students learn to edit 'in-camera'. As part of a course on hospital dramas, they storyboard scenes and film them in a series of consecutive single takes.

You can also see a Teachers' TV programme about this project here.
